After my class on Tuesday, my lovely wife and I packed up the car and drove the 5 hours to Las Vegas. We were flying out of Vegas Airport the next morning, and as neither of us had ever been to Vegas, we decided to go down the day before to go sight-seeing. We checked into our hotel, the Excalibur Resort and Casino, then went out to explore the city.
We walked up and down the Strip and saw the many lights the city has to offer. We stopped at the Bellagio Hotel to watch the water/light/music show they coordinate in front of the hotel.
Las Vegas is one of those cities that you have to go see just once in your lifetime. It's definitely true that the city never sleeps; there are parties going all night long. In fact, most of the parties don't start until late at night and don't end until the sun comes up. I'm glad we went to see it though because at least I can say that I've visited Vegas. After 3 hours of walking up and down the Strip, we were exhausted. I tried my hand at the slot machines for a bit before we went to bed. I put in a dollar and after both winning and losing some, I came out with a total of $8. It must have been beginner's luck.
